Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Diane S. Healey, DVM

Dr. Diane Healey grew up in Montana before attending Colorado State University, and later moved to Portland in 1989 where she’s been practicing small animal medicine for over 25 years. In April 2013 she fulfilled her lifelong dream to own her own clinic by purchasing Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic.

The best part of being a vet is that by working with individual pet’s and their owners, Dr. Healey to get to know what’s special and unique about each one. Doesn’t matter if it’s a puppy or kitten, healing injuries, treating illnesses, or just providing comfort for an aging pet, she loves the challenge of helping each new patient.

When at home, she loves to spend her weekends either checking out the Oregon vineyards or curled up with a good book, two cats, a dog, and a warm cup of tea.

Meet Our Team

Dr. Ranallo

Dr. Ranallo and her partner are transplants to the northwest from Madison, Wisconsin and are enjoying the greenery. They brought with them two bearded dragons, one snake, and one very spoiled cat. Since settling in Oregon in 2019 they have added a rescue chihuahua to the family. Dr. Ranallo likes to spend time watching scary movies, gardening, and fostering rescue cats. She has a particular interest in dental surgery and oral health.

Rhonda, Veterinary Assistant

Rhonda is a Veterinary Assistant who started at Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 2022. She has 20 years of veterinary experience. She was a Shelter Veterinary Technician for 7 years.

Rhonda grew up on a small farm in California with all kinds of animals. Working with or having animals is all Rhonda has ever wanted to do. She lives in Hillsboro with her husband, her Boston terrier Logan and her cat Tiny. With all her experience she is a great asset to our clinic.

Lauren, Veterinary Assistant

Lauren is a Veterinary Assistant who has been working here since the fall of 2021. The experiences she has had and people she has met through our clinic have helped to shape her understanding of veterinary medicine. Before joining us, she spent about eight months at another clinic also doing veterinary assistant duties. Before that she was working hard on earning her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Oregon State University, where she hopes to return
one day to further her own education and earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She has lived with animals both large and small throughout her life and her love for them has done nothing but grow! As such, her job at this clinic seems less like work and more like a passion that she has the joy of being able to do. Lauren’s four-legged family members, such as her dog Amber, mean the world to her and we are happy to have her be a part of our family here at Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic.

Cassi, Technician Assistant

Cassi has been in the Veterinary field since 2017, currently in school for her license as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Her passion for animals started at 5 years old when she got her first cat named Binx from the local humane society. She currently has a German Shepherd named Valkyrie Freya, a tuxedo cat named Skrillex and a domestic medium hair all black cat named T’Challa. In her spare time, Cassi loves to explore hiking trails with her dog and husband, dog training and photography. She is excited to meet you and your furry friends at the hospital!

Abby, Technician Assistant

Abby started her career in the veterinary field as a receptionist in 2016. A year later, she started learning the medical side and quickly moved through the ranks from kennel assistant to technician level. Abby has experience with general practice medicine, emergency, and animal surgery. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her horse Vida or training her 2 dogs, Kona and Fly.

Katarina, Practice Manager

Kat has been with Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic since the summer of 2020. She started as our Kennel Assistant and is now our Practice Manager. Kat has an incredible passion for animals, both big and small. She grew up on a farm, showing horses, sheep, goats, and participating in agility training with her first dog, Bear. More recently, Kat has been involved with reptiles and other exotic pets when she is not working here at the clinic. Her focus is on education and growing her career in veterinary medicine. She is currently enrolled in school to gain her certified technician license. She is always more than happy to assist our clients and pets with any of their needs.

Her cat Nemo loves to comes to work with her and is our official clinic greeter.

Denise, Customer Service Representative

Denise was born in Portland, but has lived all over. She’s always had a love for animals. In fact people would say she had an arrow pointing towards her for all the strays to find her! While growing up, she had the usual furry pets, but it’s when she moved to England that she got into exotic critters! Working at a wildlife rescue park and St. Tiggy Winkles Hedgehog Hospital gave her real experience. Currently, her free time is filled up with car racing and Badger, her 1/2 Alaskan Malmute-1/2 Siberian Husky puppy!

After 30 years of working in the dental field, she’s excited to be able to help make sure our clients and their pets get the best of care -including their teeth!
